I have been privileged to explore some of Alaska's most remote corners on foot, ski or by boat and plane, as well as climb some of its highest summits. You will find an account of my latest photo essay 'Climb Denali: A reflective journey' at www.climbdenali.com. To learn more about my photography, I invite you to visit my website www.laurentdick.com. This journal is a daily reflection of my ongoing exploration of Alaska. Alaska365 will take you through the seasons: the explosion of life in spring, the endless flood of light illuminating our summer nights, the vibrant tapestry of color in fall, and the silent flickering of the Northern Lights on cold winter nights.Join me, Laurent Dick, on my journeys off the beaten path, across vast tundra and taiga, up jagged mountains and down braided rivers, along windswept coastlines and into remote fishing and hunting camps and villages. Through daily images, I want to convey the seasonal rhythms, the eternal ebb and flow of tides and life, and the heartbeat of the land and people who call it home.

Grizzly Bear Sow And Cub - A grizzly sow and one of her cubs meander on the Denali Park road near Sable Pass. On our recent trip into the park, we saw five different sows with two cubs each. No matter how often I travel into the park, each time is unique and different from previous trips.
